So, what is IRC? An acronym for Internet Relay Chat:
“IRC was created by Jarkko Oikarinen in August 1988 to replace a program called MUT (MultiUser Talk) on a BBS called OuluBox in Finland. Oikarinen found inspiration in a chat system known as Bitnet Relay, which operated on the BITNET.” ~Wikipedia.org
IRC nowadays can be very user-friendly. It is a quick way for internet users to communicate with a large community of users from all over the world. Although we're very small, IRC still holds to a very important function in our lives; communication between friends, family, and other members of the internet. For Furries, IRC is a very important tool in communication. This allows for simplistic roleplay, filesharing, chatting, and communication of other resources such as countless silly Youtube videos and Fur Affinity content. >.>
